Three of the four fixtures of the 2023/24 MTN FA Cup quarter-finals are scheduled to take place this weekend, but which teams are we tipping to reach the semi-finals?
Read on to find out why we have predicted a particular team to get the edge over the other.
Saturday 30th March 2024
Nsoatreman FC vs Karela United
Nsoatreman FC defeated Division One League side Maana FC 3-0 at home in the Round of 64, eliminated Victory Club Warriors in the Round 32 with a 1-0 success. Maxwell Konadu’s side recorded a penalty shootout victory over Berekum Chelsea in the Round of 16 following a 0-0 outcome in regular time.
The Nsoatre-based team have hosted all of their 3 Ghana FA Cup games this season and with Karela visiting the Nana Amoah Koronmansah II Park for this clash, the home team will be looking to maintain their excellent home run. Konadu’s men have won 64.29% of their home games in 2023/24 across all competitions with 9 wins, 2 draws, and 3 losses.
Karela United, on the flip side, Karela United secured a 3-2 win against Steadfast FC in the Round of 64, edged out Kasalgu Arrow Heads FC 5-1 before they conquered Asante Kotoko 2-0 in Tamale to reach this stage. Karela have just picked up 2 wins in their 12 away games in all events this season, drawing 3 and losing 7.
Our Prediction: Based on the above insight, we are backing Nsoatreman FC to qualify.

Legon Cities vs Bechem United
Legon Cities head into this clash with undefeated in their last 7 home matches across all competitions starting from the 3-1 league win against Real Tamale United on 10th December last year.
In relation to the FA Cup, Cities beat Accra Lions 3-0 in the Round of 64, knocked out Division Two side Suhyen United 4 -0 in the Round of 32 before defeating former champions Nania FC 2-1 in the Round of 16 to secure a quarter final spot.
On the other side, Bechem United are 5th in the Ghana Premier League with 33 points after 22 games played. The 2017 FA Cup winners, however, go into this encounter in a patchy form winning and losing 2 each in their last 5 outings.
Our Prediction: Considering the strong home form of Samuel Kwesi Fabin’s side, we are tipping Legon Cities to qualify.
Bofoakwa Tano vs Skyy FC
Premier League strugglers Bofoakwa Tano will be looking to continue their perfect run in the FA Cup with a qualification in this 2023/24 MTN FA Cup quarter-finals clash against Skyy FC. The Sunyani-based side are in the relegation zone on the GPL table with 26 points in 33 games.
Bofoakwa Tano defeated Sunyani Oxford FC 3-0 in the Round of 64, secured a narrow 1-0 win against Berekum City in the Round of 32 before picking up another 1-0 triumph over Wa Power FC in the Round of 16 to reach the quarters.
Conversely, Skyy FC are aiming for their second successive semi-final appearance after losing to eventual winners Dreams FC in the last four in 2022/23. Skyy FC imposed a 2-0 defeat against GPL side FC Samartex 1996 in the Round of 64, followed up with another 2-0 win over two-time winners Medeama SC in the Round of 32 before the Daboase-side eliminated Elmina Sharks 4-2 on penalties following a 1-1 outcome.
Our Prediction: We see Bofoakwa Tano qualifying.
Note that Dreams FC’s match against Soccer Intellectuals SC has been postponed due to the former’s CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final clash against Stade Malien on Sunday, 31st March.
