Neymar becomes most expensive footballer ever in terms of accumulated transfer fees !

Transferred to Al-Hilal for 90 million euros, Neymar has reached 400 million euros invested in him since the start of his career.

Neymar is again the most expensive player in history in cumulative transfers. On Tuesday, PSG sold the Brazilian striker to Al-Hilal for 90 million euros. Six years ago, the Parisian club had paid 222 million euros, the amount of the release clause to recruit the talented attacker.

Including his departure from Santos to FC Barcelona (around 88 million euros), the 31-year-old player therefore cost a total of 400 million euros in the space of three transfers. This is more than that of Romelu Lukaku, who has known five clubs outside of loans, for more than 330 million euros in cumulative transfers.

Three French in the top 10

Having gone free to Al-Nassr last January, Cristiano Ronaldo cost 247 million euros in his career, with a record for him of 117 million euros when he left for Juventus in 2018, coming from Real Madrid.

Ousmane Dembélé, is close to the Portuguese with 220 million euros invested in him.

The top 5 is completed by Spanish striker Alvaro Morata, who has often been transferred, culminating in the 66 million euros invested by Chelsea in the summer of 2017 to recruit the player who was then playing at Real Madrid.

Kylian Mbappé and Antoine Griezmann are behind Philippe Coutinho, with 180 million euros. The PSG striker reached this sum with his transfer to the Parisian club whereas the Atlético de Madrid player accumulated three deals to reach this sum.
