The United States women’s national soccer team (USWNT) edged out Brazil 1-0 in the 2024 Summer Olympics women’s football tournament final on Saturday.
Chicago Red Stars forward Mallory Diane Swanson netted the only goal of the final match in the 57th minute at Parc des Princes, the same venue where Spain defeated France in the final of the men’s category.
At the time of writing, the United States are second on the 2024 Summer Olympic Games medal tally with 38 gold medals, 42 silver and bronze each as China sit atop of the ranking with 39 gold, 27 silver, and 24 bronze medals.
