Former Chelsea manager Glenn Hoddle has admonished his former side not to get carried away by their resounding 6-2 Premier League win over Wolves.
The Blues toyed with Wolverhampton Wanderers for their first Premier League victory under Enzo Maresca.
However, Hoddle, who coached the Blues from 1993 to 1996 and won no trophies, believes Wolves were not a credible opposition and suggests there are more hard games to come that will reveal Chelsea’s true level.
“Going forward they looked really good. We’ve said they’ve got good players but every game in this Premier League won’t be like that. That was so open it was like the Wild West,” Hoddle told Premier League Productions.
“It was basketball, there was no defending you could pull it to bits defensively for 90 minutes. But it made for a fantastic game. But with Chelsea if you give good players time and space on the ball they will hurt you.
“If you closed down you’re under pressure, whether you’re a striker, midfielder or defender and life becomes different then. But Chelsea were given so much space.”
Noni Madueke hit a hat-trick while there were goals from Nicholas Jackson, Cole Palmer, and Joao Felix as Chelsea recorded a notable away win at Molineaux.
