Asante Kotoko left it late to defeat Accra Lions by 1-0 at the Accra sports stadium on Monday as Kalo Ouattara broke the hearts of the home fans with a late winner.

The former Berekum Chelsea striker replaced striker Steven Mukwala in the 60th minute and went ahead to score the only goal of the game in the 90 +9 minute.

The win is the first victory of the new league season for the team of Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum who will be surely relieved by this success.

The Ghana Premier League giants have have now moved from the 18th position to the 9th place with 5 points taken from four matches.

After full time , below is what Dr. Narteh Ogum said at the Accra sports stadium :

“Yeah as I told you they are tactically a good side , they are very intelligent on the ball , they are able to move well into spaces and so I knew it was going to be like this.”

“Exactly it tells you that we have quality , we have depth in the team. If you are on the bench , your responsibility is to read and analyze the game  , so that when you go in you can either equal the performance of the one who is coming or you can do better than that. The league goes on”
