Aduana On A Mission to Win the GPL at All Cost : Aduana Football Club were eliminated from the MTN FA Cup at the quarter-final stage by King Faisal Football club who clinched a 3-1 penalty shootout success following a 2-2 draw in 120 minutes on Sunday.
The Ogya Bosy took the lead at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex against the run of play through defender Stephen Anokye Badu in the 40th minute. In the 47th minute Godfred Asiamah was brought down in the box and Abdul Latif successfully converted the penalty to make it 1-1.
Frank Owusu made it 2-1 for Aduana in the 75th but King Faisal succeeded in getting the equalizer through the in-form striker Benjamin Bature in the 78th minute.
The normal 90 minutes ended with the score at 2-2 as the quarter-final match was pushed into extra time. The Premier League sides exchanged attacks but the extra 30 minutes failed to see any more goals.
In the ensuing penalty shootouts , King Faisal won by 3-1.
It was the top priority of the two-time Ghana champions to win both Ghana Premier League and the FA Cup this season but Samuel Kwesi Fabin’s side are now on a mission to avoid a trophyless season.
It will be embarrassing if they fail to win at least one silverware this season considering how much the Double Ambition was talked about by the club.
Samuel Kwesi Fabin and his team still lead the league standings with 44 points taken from 25 matches but the possibility of annexing a third league crown this year is somehow questionable considering their recent form during Weeks 22 , 23 , 24 and 25.
Bechem United , Medeama follow suit with 41 points each whilst Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko are on 39 points each meaning the title race is widely open.

For their Week 27 match , the Ogya Side take on Asante Kotoko at the Babayara sports stadium on April 21st.
