Aduana Spokesman Reacts to GFA Home Ban Decision : The Communications Director of Aduana Football Club , Evans Oppong , has reacted to the decision of the Ghana Football Association to impose an indefinite home ban against the Ogya Boys following the incident of Sunday April 2nd after the Aduana FC 1 Tamale City FC 0 Week 25 Ghana Premier League match.
“I will always condemn hooliganism at any given time in our football. The management of Aduana FC did all they could to make sure Tamale City is safe at the NAB 1 Park and indeed they were safe throughout the game ” , Evans Oppong was quoted by Sunyani-based Sompa FM.
The Spokesman continued :
“The Police took charge to escort Tamale City out of Dormaa after the match only for us to hear that, Tamale City team bus has been attacked.
We are very disappointed that GFA has banned us from using NAB 1 Park, how can you ban us when you know perfectly that the incident happened outside the stadium and they were in the hands of over 60 Police personnel. How? , Evans Oppong quizzed.
Meanwhile the Aduana official took the opportunity to discredit allegations that he , Evans , had stated elsewhere that the people who attacked the Tamale City contingent after Sunday’s match were fans of Mighty Royals and Nsoatreman FC.
” It’s never true that I said Mighty Royals and Nsoatreman FC fans attacked Tamale City. It’s NOT true I said that”
