African witchdoctor Moustapha Bodé on Togo FA : African witchdoctor Moustapha Bodé says that it is thanks to him that the Hawks of Togo did not lose to Burkina Faso in their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Tuesday in Lome.
Bodé is a former staff member of the Togolese national team and according to him he was approached to help Togo avoid defeat against Burkina Faso during Tuesday’s match at the Stade de Kégué.
He stated :
“It was the canton chief of Davié who came to my house, he begged me not to let Togo lose tonight.
I told him it’s too late, that I can’t prepare for the match. I nevertheless promised him to make my effort so that the Stallions do not win.” , Moustapha Bodé said as quoted by FOF Inter on Facebook.
The witchdoctor continued :
“Tonight, when Burkina were leading Togo 1-0, he called me, I told him that the match will end with a score of 1 goal everywhere 1-1. When they equalized, the canton chief of Davié called me again asking me to keep this score, and that he has a surprise for me if I get there…”
The surprise in question is 25 million CFA Francs equivalent to 41 000 USD which he has still not received. He has since vowed to stop helping the Togo national team spiritually if they fail to give him his money.
Meanwhile unconfirmed reports in Francophone Africa indicates that former Togo and Real Madrid striker Emmanuel Adebayor has decided to settle the witchdoctor on behalf of the Togo FA.
Bournemouth winger Dango Ouattara netted first for Burkina Faso in the 12th minute before Kodjo Fo-Doh Laba equalized for Togo in the 26th as the game ended 1-1.
