Afriyie Barnieh Leads Ghana U23 against Congo This Afternoon : The Ghana Olympic football team take on Congo U23 national men’s team during opening day of the 2023 CAF U23 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday.
The Group A match takes place at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat and Black Meteors head coach Ibrahim Tanko has most of his key players in the starting team to face the Congolese.
Goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad , captain Afriyie Barnieh , talented winger Ernest Nuamah and playmaker Abdul Fatawu Issahaku of Sporting CP are all starters this afternnon.
The game kick off 15 : 00 GMT.

Team captain Daniel Afriyie Barnieh says the Black Meteors are fired up for the 2023 TotalEnergies U23 African Cup of Nations.
“It’s a good atmosphere in our camp. On and off the pitch the morale is really high in our camp”he said.
“Everything is quite good and our objective for this competition is to qualify for the Olympic Games and also to win the trophy”.
Barnieh further revealed that he is looking forward to play at the Olympic Games if the team achieves its targets.
“It means a lot to me to participate in the Olympic Games because it is one of the biggest competitions in the world.”
“Its a competition that has seen alot of stars participate in over the years”, Barnieh stated.
The winner and runner ups of the tournament will qualify to participate in the 2024 Olympic Games Soccer competition in Paris.
