CAF Champions League : Ghana duo David Abagba , Imoro Ibrahim help Al-Hilal to defeat Coton Sport in Garoua

Al -Hilal Defeat Coton Sport : Al-Hilal Omdurman recorded their second victory of the 2022/23 CAF Champions League group stage following their success on the road against Coton Sport of Cameroon.

The Sudanese side came from a goal down to win 2-1 at the Roumde Adjia stadium in Garoua on Friday evening as Ghana duo David Abagna Sandan and Ibrahim Imoro started the encounter.

The former Real Tamale United midfielder and Asante Kotoko left back thus have started all three Champions League games of Al-Hilal this season.

Coton Sport scored first through Patient Gouegoue Wassou in the 43rd minute.

In the second half Democratic Republic of Congo striker Makabi Lilepo led the comeback for Al-Hilal thanks to his powerful brace.

The prolific attacker equalized in the 52nd minute before shaking the back of the net again five minutes later to put his team ahead.

Lilepo was also the goal-scorer when Al-Hilal defeated almighty Al Ahly on February 18th in Omdurman.

The giants of Sudan are second on the Group B standings with 6 points after three games ; the same number of points as group leaders Mamelodi Sundowns (2 games played) who are superior in terms of the head-to-head tie-breaking criteria.
