Antoine Semenyo is not just dreaming—he’s manifesting. The 24-year-old Ghanaian forward, fresh off a stellar season with AFC Bournemouth, has his sights set on football’s grandest stage, the FIFA World Cup final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Semenyo is not only focused on club commitments but also passionately invested in his country’s journey to the global showpiece.
For the Bournemouth striker, the dream of walking onto the MetLife pitch in 2026 in the colours of the Black Stars is very much alive.
Semenyo Eyes World Cup 2026 Final
Currently on tour in the United States with Bournemouth for the Premier League Summer Series, Semenyo returned to New Jersey—a potential World Cup final venue—in top form.
Coming off the bench to help his side cruise to a 3-0 victory over Everton, Semenyo showcased the qualities that made him a standout last season, where he scored 11 Premier League goals.
Although the Summer Series is a preseason tournament, the location sparked bigger thoughts for the Ghanaian international. Speaking to GHANASoccernet, he admitted that just being in New Jersey triggered thoughts of the future:
“We want to go to the World Cup, we are going to be here again. We want to win those games and qualify.”
Semenyo’s words exude optimism, but he knows the road ahead is challenging. Ghana must first navigate a competitive qualification process. With crucial fixtures against Chad and Mali coming up in September, every match counts.

Asked if he believes Ghana can reach the final, the Bournemouth attacker responded with both hope and realism:
“What we can do is manifest. You never know what will happen, but I think we have to take it step by step. We need to win the qualifiers to get to the World Cup and we will see what happens.”
It’s this blend of belief and grounded perspective that has endeared Semenyo to fans. He understands that dreams begin with effort—and his efforts on both club and international fronts reflect that commitment.
Semenyo, a Key Payer for Bournemouth
After his breakout 2023–24 season, Semenyo has become a pivotal figure for Bournemouth. His performance against Everton was a reminder of his attacking flair, composure, and versatility.
Manager Andoni Iraola is expected to start him in Bournemouth’s next fixture against Manchester United—another opportunity for the Ghanaian to impress.
Yet even as he chases success in the Premier League, Semenyo remains deeply connected to the Black Stars. The blend of personal ambition and national pride is shaping him into a key figure in Ghana’s football renaissance.
Meanwhile in other news, Ghana Sports Market, reported that Mohammed Kudus was not part of Tottenham’s sqaud for their pre-season draw against Wycombe on Saturday.
