Alex Asamoah Reveals Asante Kotoko Still Owe Him : Former Asante Kotoko striker Alex Asamoah has revealed that the club still owes him an amount of 8 000 Ghana Cedis.
In 2009 at the age of 22, Asamoah was the best striker in the country and hottest transfer target for lot of clubs both locally and abroad.
His 16 goals for Kotoko in the 2008/09 was the beginning of his prominence as he realized the prestigious achievement of being a goal king of the Ghana Premier League.
“I came to serve Kotoko very well. You all know of that. I won the Goal King. I am the most expensive player in Ghana league , the record is there.” , Asamoah said to Angel TV.
He continued :
“Kotoko owe me 8 000 Cedis and this was during the KK Sarpong time. Even I could have left Kotoko as a free agent but I did not do that. My contract was almost over and I could have waited for the contract to be over and I move out as a free player.
But when ES Setif came for me , I told them I have a contract with Kotoko and so Kotoko got 40 000 Euros from my transfer to Setif and so for my 8 000 Cedis , they should have given it to me but they did not.”
