Ati-Zigi Turning Hate into Love at the Black Stars

Ati-Zigi Turning Hate into Love : Lawrence Ati – Zigi is no more the Black Stars goalkeeper, ridiculed by many for his tendency of conceding cheap goals.

The respect and standing of the St. Gallen first choice keeper have shot up at the Black Stars since the 2022 FIFA World Cup concluded. The tournament saw Lawrence start and complete all three group stage matches of the Black Stars.

The rise continues for the Switzerland-based keeper.

The Red Bull Ghana product has started the last five games of the Black Stars in the past four months. He’s never had this opportunity before. Of course injuries to Joseph Wollacot and Richard Ofori within that space of time have played a major role in the rise of reputation of Ati-Zigi but he impressed.

His intervention against Cristiano Ronaldo at the Qatar World Cup ranks highest among his long list of great moments in the Ghana jersey in recent matches.

Almost every coach will tell you the goalkeeping position is the only area of the team hardly changed from one player to another and this should be music to the ears of Ati-Zigi ; the Ghana first choice role is for him to lose at the moment.
