Aurelio De Laurentiis Attacks UEFA : Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has complained about his club’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final draw against AC Milan whilst attacking the UEFA boss Aleksander Ceferin saying “we are all slave to a football ministry”.
Leaders of the 2022/23 Serie A so far with 71 points , the former club of Diego Maradona lead the league with 19 points ahead of second-place Lazio.
And it is easy to see that Napoli are clinching the Scudetto this year. It would be the third time in the history of the club which has not won the Italian championship since 1990.
Napoli will play the quarter-final of the Champions League against Serie A rivals AC Milan but the boss of Victor Osimhen , Aurelio De Laurentiis is not a happy man.
“These are the problems of a headless UEFA, criticizes the leader. Imagine if we had also had a fourth match in the Italian Cup, it would have been ridiculous. How ridiculous to play three times against the same team. ”
“We would have liked to play against another European team”
De Laurentiis didn’t mince words against UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin :
“If we play in a European competition, we want to compete with the best European teams. So Milan would have liked to play against another European team, we would have liked to also play against another European team.
Unfortunately, until we change UEFA, we are all slaves to a football ministry and not to an association of real football companies.”
Naples faces AC Milan on Sunday in Serie A at the Diego-Armando-Maradona stadium before moving to San Siro on April 12th for the first leg of the Champions League.
The return will be played, six days later, on April 18 in Naples.
