Avram Grant’s Zambia Defeat Lesotho in Johannesburg : Avram Grant has won his second game in charge of the Zambia national team after Sunday’s 2-0 win against Lesotho during Match-Day Four of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification.
The former Chelsea and Black Stars of Ghana manager was named as the new coach of Zambia on 22nd December 2022 and was tasked to qualify the Chipolopolo to the next AFCON tournament to be hosted in Ivory Coast in 2024.
So far , so good for Grant who has defeated Lesotho back to back with the Copper Bullets.
Zambia recorded a 3-1 victory on 23rd March in Ndola and have followed it up with a 2-0 success against the same opponents during Match-Day Four of the AFCON qualification series.
Leicester City forward Patson Daka netted a brace against Lesotho at the Dobsonville Stadium in Johannesburg. The match was a home game of the Crocodiles.
Daka scored hist first goal in the 14th minute before making it 2-0 in the 69th. Daka cleverly run behind the defence of Lesotho to connect home a cut-back from Fashion Sakala who plays for Rangers in Scotland.
Avram Grant and Zambia are now top of Group H with 9 points in four games. Hosts nations Ivory Coast , who are taking part in the qualification as a mere formality , are second with 7 points in three matches played.
