Match Report : Real Madrid run riot to humiliate rivals Barcelona by 4-0 to reach Copa del Rey final as Benzema reigns supreme with Camp Nou hat trick

Barcelona 0 Real Madrid 4 Match Report on April 5th : Real Madrid produced a masterclass performance to destroy arch rivals FC Barcelona by 4-0 at the Nou Camp on Wednesday night to the reach the 2023 Copa del Rey final as Karim Benzema netted historic hat trick. 

Karim Benzema became the first Real Madrid player to score a hat trick at Camp Nou since Ferenc Puskás did so in 1963.

Before Benzema’s show , Vinicius Junior found the back of the net at the stroke of half time in a rapid attacking transition from the team of Carlo Ancelotti.

Robert Lewandowski had forced a superb save from goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and the White Angels immediately broke free on a fast counter attack led by Rodrygo Goes. The Brazilian released the ball to compatriot Vinicius who located Benzema on the right.

The Frenchman then cleverly cut back for Vini to finish making it 1-1 on aggregate at half time.

The goal was important to Real Madrid as it set the tone for the rest of the match.

In the 50th minute the iconic striker Benzema made it 2-0 thanks to a Luka Modric assist.

Eight minutes later Benzema beat ter Stegen again this time from the spot as Ivory Coast midfielder Franck Kessie fouled Vinicius in the box for a penalty against the home team.

The former Olympique Lyon attacker went ahead to realize a hat trick in the 80th minute with a cool finish and it was Vinicius who assisted him.

Real Madrid reach the final of the Spanish Cup competition with a 4-1 aggregate victory and they will meet Osasuna on 6th May in Seville to contest the final of the 121st edition of the Copa del Rey.
