Barcelona Announce The Signing of Vitor Roque : As expected, the young striker from Athletico Paranaense Vitor Roque is committed to FC Barcelona, which he will join at the start of the 2024/25 season. The 18-year-old signed a contract until 2031 for 30 million euros. A sum that can double depending on the bonuses.
Barça has its third signing of the summer. After the free arrivals of Inigo Martinez and Ilkay Gündogan, the Blaugrana club formalizes the arrival of Vitor Roque, 18-year-old striker playing for Athletico Paranaense.
He will join Catalonia for the 2024-2025 season, and until 2031. His release clause is set at 500 000 000 million Euros.
According to the local press, the cost of this transfer amounts to 30 million euros to which bonuses of up to 31 million euros could be added. Journalist Fabrizio Romano informs that 5 million euros will have to be paid in addition to the Brazilian club if he manages to finish on the Ballon d’Or podium.
The small striker (1.72m) is described by his new club as “renowned for his sense of goal, his ease in eliminating his rivals and getting into a striking position”.
‘El Tigrinho’ already has a cap with Brazil, last March against Morocco (1-2). After starting professionally with Cruzeiro, he joined Athletico Paranaense in April 2022 before exploding at the highest local level.
Since the start of the season, still ongoing in Brazil, Vitor Roque has 15 goals in 30 appearances in all competitions. Despite his young age, he already has 50 games in the league and 13 in the Copa Libertadores.
He also won the equivalent of the Copa America U23 with the Seleçao, finishing co-top scorer in the tournament with 6 goals.
