Black Galaxies Player Ratings in 3-1 Nigeria Defeat: The Black Galaxies of Ghana were humbled 3-1 by the Nigeria CHAN team on Saturday as the hosts booked their place at the 2024 African Nations Championship to take place early next year.
Nigeria held Ghana 0-0 in Accra in the first leg before outclassing the Ghanaian team managed by Mas-Ud Didi Dramani in the second leg to qualify for the tournament finals with a 3-1 aggregate score.
Ghana Sports Market’s Gariba Raubil has rated the performance of the Ghana CHAN team.
GK Benjamin Asare 3/10 – Conceded three times in a spate of six minutes, even though his poor back four let him down.
RB Fatawu Sulemana 3/10 – Had a torrid time whenever the Nigeria attacked via his side.
LB Kamaradini Mamudu 3/10 – This is certainly not a performance he would be proud of.
CB Ebenezer Abban 3/10 – He was very bad on the day.
CB Razak Simpson 3/10 – Alongside Abban, Simpson suffered against the rampant Nigeria attackers.
DM Abdulai Nurudeen 3/10 – The Nigerian scored their third when he was dispossessed few meters away from the Ghanaian box.
CM Issah Yakubuku 3/10 – Was such a poor display from the midfielder and as a captain, he did not show any leadership.
CM Manuel Mantey 2/10 – It is still shocking why he started both legs. Offered very little in terms of creativity and defensively, his contribution was unappreciable.
RF Mustapha Yakubu 2/10 – Was just a mere figure on the pitch as he added up to the numbers.
LF Jerry Afriyie 3/10 – Tried to make things happen, but was unsuccessful each time he attempted.
CF Albert Amoah 3/10 – A game to forget for the Kotoko man, albeit he was hardly supplied by his midfielders.
Head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani 1/10 – The decision to omit 2024-25 GPL top scorer Faisal Charwetey and the overreliance on veteran midfielder Issah Yakubu at the expense of younger players such as Abdul Karim and Emmanuel Antwi proved costly over the two legs. The team failed to score and win at home and were hammered in the reverse encounter.
