Former Asante Kotoko board Evelyn Nsiah Asare has been elected as the new vice-president of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) after massively beating off competition from incumbent Maurice Quansah.
The elections were held on Saturday and 128 votes went in favor of the experienced journalist cum football administrator Nsiah Asare against 65 for Quansah. There were 166 total votes.
This means the former Kotoko board member will occupy the second biggest position at SWAG for the next four years.
Other winners of Saturday’s elections are Kwabena Yeboah the current President of the association who stood unchallenged , Charles Osei Asibey was elected as General Secretary as he continues to serve in the portfolio as the incumbent.
Keneth Obeng Adade won the Deputy General Secretary elections against Oti-Asirifi Mensah , Owuraku Nsiah picks the Treasurer position after contesting unopposed whilst Mavis Amanor is now the Women’s Commissioner for the association.
For the Executive Council contest , Franklyn Anane Gyimah , Tilda Acolor and Kwabena Ohene-Brenya were successful as Kyei Manu fails.
