Bundesliga Referee Receives Death Threats : The referee who officiated the Bochum 1 Borussia Dortmund 1 game on Friday April 28th has hinted about a possible temporary retirement from the refereeing job after receiving death threats from unknown persons.
This is as a result of his poor officiating performance in the crucial league game.
On Friday, Dortmund conceded a draw at Bochum leaving Bayern to regain the lead in the Bundesliga four match-days before the end of the 2022/23 German championship.
Bayern defeated Hertha Berlin on Sunday by 2-0 to move to the summit of the league table on 62 points against 61 of Dortmund and Sascha’s mistakes are treated as unpardonable.
Sandro Wagner on Sascha Stegemann’s performance :
“Simply too many decisions that were wrong. And behavior like that. I’ll whistle my son’s game on Sunday morning. If I do that well, I’ll whistle for the Bundesliga afterwards.”
The poor performance of the referee is difficult to forget by the supporters of Dortmund especially the obvious penalty that was not given by Sascha Stegemann.
The Man in Black admitted his mistake but that wasn’t enough as some persons have started threating him and his family.
Sascha Stegemann filed a complaint and was placed under judicial protection, according to the German press. The referee also mentioned the possibility of moving away from the game due to this incident.
