“I scored 19 goals in 64 matches for the Black Stars” – Charles Taylor makes interesting revelation on his international soccer career!

Charles Taylor Reveals His True Black Stars Records : Charles Kweku Bismark Taylor Asampong has revealed his international football statistics and this is not known by many people.

He had his greatest playing days and is one of the few players to play for Accra Hearts of Oak S.C. and Asante Kotoko.

As a kid, he was often called tailor, after his uncle who was a tailor as he used to help his uncle with work, hence, he adopted the name Charles Taylor after the former Liberian president. Nicknamed “Terror” due to his ability to terrorise opponents.

He’s arguably one of the greatest players to ever play the Ghana premier league and a key member of the famous “64 Battalion” squad of Accra Hearts of Oak S.C. that won the African Champions League in 2000 and consecutive Ghanaian league titles.

“I think I scored more than 67 goals for Hearts of Oak. I don’t know the exact number of goals I scored but maybe I scored more than the 67.” , Charles Taylor revealed on Kumasi-based Fox FM on Tuesday.

“In terms of the number of games played too I don’t know the exact number of games I played for Hearts but what I can say is that I played all the matches during my three years with the club. I played all the games including the CAF Champions League” , the Hearts of Oak legend added.

“At Kotoko I think I scored 6 goals in one season. If you look at the way we do things here , complete data compilation has been a problem. If you compare our time to now , you can see that during our time recoding of statistics like goals scored , games played by players were not there.

That is not our job as players. We should have people to be doing such work”

“Last time I went to the GFA and they showed me my Ghana Black Stars data ; I played 64 matches and scored 19 goals but I did not know so I even took a screenshot of it.” , Charles Taylor concluded.

Meanwhile information on Wikipedia shows that the former winger scored 2 goals in 16 games for the Ghana national football team between 1999 and 2004.
