Chelsea Officially Sign Christopher Nkunku : Chelsea has formalized the transfer of Christopher Nkunku who was formed at Paris Saint-Germain as the English side has met the release clause of 60 million Euros or 52 million Pounds to get one of the best forwards in Europe.
The talented attacker joins from RB Leipzig of the German Bundesliga.
Having played in the Ligue 1 and the German top-flight , Nkunku will now continue his career in England.
Chelsea communicated on Tuesday on the arrival of the attacking midfielder of the Blues. Absent from the last World Cup due to a left knee injury, Nkunku had been playing in the Bundesliga since 2019.
The 25 year old signed a six-year contract with the Blues.
“I am incredibly happy to join Chelsea,” said Nkunku. “A big effort has been made to bring me to the club and I can’t wait to meet my new manager and my team-mates and show the Chelsea supporters what I can do on the pitch,” the player told Chelsea’s official website.
“Having played in Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga, I now want to play in the Premier League, one of the strongest leagues in the world. I am very excited about this challenge and I will be proud to wear the Chelsea shirt. “
He scored 70 goals and made 56 assists for Leipzig since joining them in 2019. Last season he managed 23 goals and 9 assists across all competitions for his team despite missing plenty matches due to injuries.
