David Ocloo Says The Title Chase is Over For Hearts of Oak : Hearts of Oak acting head coach David Ocloo has made an honest admission following his team’s 5-1 home defeat against Medeama SC on Sunday.
The Yellow and Mauves run riot at the Accra sports stadium against the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League winners during Week 31 of the league season.

Medeama won the game with goals from Derrick Fordjour , Vincent Atingah , Jonathan Sowah who netted twice and Kwesi Donsu whilst Salifu Ibrahim scored the consolation goal for the home team.
“It’s very embarrassing like you said. We came with a plan but nothing worked today. Congratulations to Medeama. They played well and very clinical.” , David Ocloo said after the match.
He continued :
“We gave them too much time and space on the ball and in football when you give your opponents time and space and he will punish you.
“Yeah , yeah the title chase for us is over. We play now to get a respectable position.” , the coach added.
Medeama are now leaders of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League standings on 53 points in 31 matches contested as they have a golden opportunity to win their first ever league silverware.
Meanwhile Hearts of Oak are 6th on the league table with their 45 points in 31 games.
The Phobians parted ways with head coach Samuel Boadu following a draw against Asante Kotoko on 25th Septemeber 2022.
Serbian trainer Slavko Matic came in to replace the former Medeama boss before he was brutally chased out of the club by a section of Hearts of Oak fans at the Pobiman Training Complex.
Assistant head coach David Ocloo was then installed as interim head coach until a substantive coach arrives.
Meanwhile former Kotoko gaffer Prosper Ogum Narteh has been heavily linked with the Phobian job as the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League winning coach is expected to take over ahead of the 2023/24 season.
