George Afriyie Donates 10K GHC For Sunyani Coronation Park Upgrade : Former Ghana Football Association vice-president George Afriyie has added his name to the long list of donors towards the enhancement of the Sunyani Coronation Park as Bofoakwa Tano gets ready to use the facility for the upcoming 2023/24 Ghana Premier League.
The Sunyani-base side qualified to the country’s elite league for the first time in 16 years since their relegation in the 2006/07 season.
The fund-raising is led by former Brong Ahafo United chairman Ransford Antwi.
“My brother George Afriyie , former GFA Vice President has been out of town but still managed to bless us with 10 000 Ghana Cedis towards the Sunyani Coronation Park Dressing room/Pitch maintenance project” , Mr. Ransford Antwi revealed in a Facebook post on Thursday.
“Although he didn’t want me to make public , I have respectfully decided to turn down such a request to encourage others to come in to offer more help. God richly bless you , Bro” , the owner of Sun City Radio in Sunyani added.
Mr. Antwi has build a respectable reputation over the years for his unflinching effort to improve the Brong Ahafo region in the area of sports and youth development.
Even though Mr. Antwi is a through and through B.A United supporter , that has never stopped him from championing such positive campaign for rivals Bofoakwa Tano.
It must be recalled that the former B.A United boss led a similar fund-raising campaign to generate a significant amount of money for Bofoakwa Tano during the crucial stages of the 2021/22 Division One League season that saw Real Tamale United win the zone’s ticket to the Premier League.
