The current GFA boss Okraku is expected to stand for re-election, setting the stage for an exciting contest between the two candidates.

Afriyie’s extensive experience in Ghana football is seen as a significant advantage in his bid for the presidency. He has held influential positions in various clubs, including a notable tenure as chairman of the Black Stars management committee.

Additionally, his involvement with Liberty Professionals has further solidified his reputation and understanding of the local football landscape.

During his previous tenure as GFA Vice President from 2015 to 2018, Afriyie demonstrated his commitment to the development and advancement of Ghanaian football.
