GFA Owes Ghana Referees: Ghana Football Association communications director, Henry Asante Twum, has confirmed the association owes Ghana Premier League referees allowances heading into Matchweek 15.
According to Asante Twum, the criticisms against the Ghana FA from certain quarters is unwarranted because even bigger associations and federations such as CAF , WAFU, and FIFA do pay officiating officials’ allowances in arrears.
”It is normal that we owe referees. CAF, WAFU, and FIFA all owe referees at times. But the current situation is not the same as it was previously. We agreed to pay them after every five weeks, as and we speak, the GPL referees have received allowances for Week 1 to 5. The rest of the weeks will be paid very soon.”, Henry Asante is quoted to have told Akoma FM.
Menawhile, matchweek 15 of the GPL is scheduled to take place three days.
