GFA President Kurt Okraku set to win second term by popular acclamation on Thursday as George Afriyie is in court to stop process !

On 2nd October 2023 , The Ghana Football Association announced that it has temporarily moved its Secretariat to Tamale as it begins preparations for the upcoming GFA Presidential Elections to be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023.

This year’s GFA Extraordinary Congress will be held in Tamale, and as such, the Secretariat has been moved to the Northern Regional capital to ensure that all facilities and logistics are in place for a successful Congress.

Meanwhile George Afriyie , disqualified from the GFA Presidential race , has filed a court case where he is praying the court to particularly stop the Ghana Football Association from electing a new president.

That injunction application sees the respondents which is the GFA and the former vice-president appear in court on 12th October 2023. But according to the GFA , the Elective Congress will still take place on Thursday October 5th , 2023 as scheduled.
