Ghana FA needs change of leadership – MP Eugene Boakye Antwi

ANOTHER DISASTROUS TOURNAMENT as Ghana football continues to collapse across all fronts !

Ghana FA Needs Change of Leadership Says Ghanaian MP : Eugene Boakye Antwi, Member of Parliament for Subin Constituency and Vice-Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Youth and Sports, has called for a leadership change within the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to address the country’s declining football standards.

Antwi lamented the poor performances of various national teams in recent tournaments, with the latest being the Black Meteors who were eliminated from the 2023 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations at the group stage, failing to qualify for the Olympic Games.

Black Meteors only managed one win, a narrow 3-2 victory over Congo, before suffering a crushing 5-1 defeat against Morocco and finally bowing out with a disappointing 1-1 draw against Guinea.

“The way forward is that there has to be a massive shakeup at the GFA. The narrative out there about the operations of the FA is not reassuring.

You may have an interest in dictating to coaches which players to field among other things. If these rumours are true then I am really afraid for the future of our football,” Antwi stated in an interview with Citi Sports.

The GFA has scheduled their 29th ordinary congress for Friday, July 10, 2023. During the congress, discussions regarding the date for the upcoming FA elections are expected to take place, providing an opportunity to address the concerns raised by Antwi and other stakeholders about the need for change within the GFA’s leadership.
