Ghana Midfielder Thomas Partey: Ghanaian international midfielder Thomas Partey lasted the full duration as Arsenal defeated Brentford 3-1 on Wednesday.
The Gunners thus extended their winning run in the Premier League to three following wins against Ipswich Town and Cyrstal Palace.
Despite a dominant period of possession, it was the home side who scored the game’s first goal in the 13th minute as Bryan Mbeuno brilliantly netted. The Cameroon star cut inside and rifled past David Raya at the hear post.
Brentford came close again to increasing their lead as Raya spilled an effort from Keane Lewis-Potter before quickly making amends to retrieve the ball.
In the 29th minute, Thomas Partey almost scored when goalkeeper Mark Flekken parried his effort. It however, fell to teammate Gabriel Jesus who nodded home the rebound to make it six goals from his last four appearances.
The first half ended 1-1.
More goals arrived, however, for the Gunners through Mikel Merino and Gabriel Martinelli in the 50th and 53rd minutes in that order.
