In a significant step toward redefining the delivery of world-class sporting events, Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games has appointed Trivandi—a global leader in major event planning, design, and operations—as its Official Event Delivery Partner.

This partnership brings together Glasgow’s renowned status as a premier host city with Trivandi’s proven expertise, having supported every Summer Olympic Games since London 2012, the past three Commonwealth Games, multiple FIFA World Cups, and World Expos.

The 2026 Games mark a bold new era for Commonwealth Sport, featuring a more sustainable, inclusive, and locally focused delivery model. Trivandi will oversee overlay and venue operations across Glasgow’s iconic sports facilities—transforming them into Games-ready venues and later returning them to community use.

Setting a New Standard for Future Commonwealth Games

Glasgow 2026 aims to establish a replicable model for future hosts—one that prioritizes local economic impact, environmental sustainability, and accessibility. The delivery model will support smaller nations and cities by demonstrating how world-class events can be achieved with existing infrastructure and thoughtful planning.

At its core is a ‘One Team’ approach, embedding international experts within the Glasgow 2026 Organising Committee while creating 250 new workforce roles, with a target to recruit 60% locally. This includes opportunities for students, unemployed residents, and individuals with accessibility needs, delivered in partnership with local social enterprises and education providers.

Building Careers and Legacy Through Trivandi Academy

Continuing the employment legacy of Glasgow 2014, Trivandi will invest in career development through its Trivandi Academy, which offers Chartered Management Institute-accredited training. Recruits will gain internationally recognised qualifications in major event planning—empowering them to work on future events across the globe.

Alison Giles, Director of the Academy, said:

“Many who worked on Glasgow 2014 went on to global careers in event management. Some are now returning for 2026. The Academy will provide the same opportunities for a new generation of local talent.”

A Focus on Inclusion, Sustainability, and Impact

With the largest Para sport programme in Commonwealth Games history and a compact venue footprint that brings fans closer to the action, Glasgow 2026 is set to be one of the most inclusive and accessible multi-sport events ever.

Trivandi will lead comprehensive accessibility audits and implement enhancements to ensure exceptional experiences for all attendees.

In line with a circular economy approach, all temporary structures will be designed for reuse at future events. Trivandi’s sustainability division, The Bulb, will also develop a global resource of best practices for sustainable venue management.

Executive Commentary

Phil Batty OBE, CEO of Glasgow 2026, said:

“There is no better city than Glasgow to pioneer this future-facing delivery model. Trivandi brings not only experience, but values that align with our vision—delivering a Games remembered for both exceptional sport and meaningful legacy.”

James Bulley OBE, Trivandi CEO and Co-founder, added:

“Glasgow 2026 is a pivotal moment for Commonwealth Sport. We’re investing in people, communities, and Scotland’s sporting future—creating a trained workforce anwed showcasing a model that can inspire future hosts around the world.”
