Godwin Ablordey Reacts to King Faisal’s Relegation : King Faisal Football Club assistant coach Godwin Ablordey believes the lack of managerial consistency at the club was a major reason why the club of Alhaji Grusah were relegated from the Ghana Premier League.
Faisal finished 17th on the league standings of the 2022/23 betPawa Ghana Premier League but their last hope of avoiding the drop was in their appeal against the decision of the Ghana Football Association Disciplinary Committee in relation to their protest against Tamale City for the use of an unqualified player.
The appellate decision was announced on Friday and it was still bad news for Faisal as their appeal was dismissed and the decision of the GFA DC upheld and Ablordey is has reacted.
“We were thinking positive before the decision. We had hoped to get a good decision from our appeal but it is not the case and we have to accept our fate and play in the Division One.” , Godwin Ablordey said.
“I think a lot of factors contributed to our failure in the league this season. There was a coach who started , he left and a new one came.
The new coach was not the one who signed the players and so who do you blame. I think Jimmy Corblah did well and the new coach too did his best but you can clearly see that changing of coaches did help us at all.” , the former Asante Kotoko captain added.
