Hearts Defeat Tamale City

Hearts Defeat Tamale City : Hearts of Oak defeated Tamale City by 3-2 during Week 11 of the betPawa Ghana Premier League in Cape Coast as defender Caleb Amankwah scored a late winner for the Phobians. 

The former WAFA and Aduana Stars center-back scored a superb volley in the 84th minute to put Hearts of Oak 3-2 up six minutes from time.

Skipper Salifu Ibrahim put his team ahead in the 34th minute from the spot but Tamale City equalized three minutes later in exactly the same way as Isaac Mensah converted from the spot.

Five minute from time City went ahead thanks to Sampson Eduku’s powerful header.

The holders of the last two editions of the MTN FA Cup quickly reorganized and equalized at the start of the second half through Benjamin York.

With six minutes from full time , Amankwa scored a heart-breaking winner with a terrific volley as Hearts of Oak went on to win the five goal thriller. The goal is the second for the influential defender this season.

Venue : Cape Coast stadium

Goals : Salifu Ibrahim 34th minute penalty , Benjamin York 46th minute , Caleb Amankwah 86th minute / Isaac Mensah 37th minute penalty , Sampson Eduku 40th minute.
