Hearts of Oak vs Berekum Chelsea

Hearts of Oak vs Berekum Chelsea Preview: Hearts of Oak will aim to return to winning ways when they host Berekum Chelsea at the University of Ghana Stadium on Friday December 20, 2024.

The Phobians are in need of a quick turn around after they suffered a painful 1-0 defeat at Asante Kotoko at the weekend, missing the chance to move just three points behind league leaders Heart of Lions.

They are currently occupying the 7th position in the table with 19 points, having scored 9 and conceded 7. Aboubakar Ouattara’s men head into this fixture as the 5th weakest home side in the league (W2, D2, L1).

Chelsea are behind the host in the table with just a point separating them. They’ve won 1, drawn 2 and suffered 2 defeats in their last 5 outings, having scored 11 and conceded 9.

They make the trip to the capital with just a single win in their away games this season (W1, D2, L2). They will be eager to record their second straight win away from home against aside they’ve struggled to beat since 2020.

Hearts of Oak have played Berekum Chelsea four times at home in the league since 2020/21 season with the Phobians winning three and drawing one.

In the 2020/21 season, Heart of Oak beat Berekum Chelsea 2-0, repeated same score-line in the 2021/22 season, won 3-1 in the 2022/23 season and recorded a 1-1 draw in the 2023/24 season.
