Hearts sack Samuel Boadu : Hearts of Oak have sacked head coach Samuel Boadu following the win-less start to the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season.
The champions of Ghana of last two seasons say thy are heading towards a new direction and Boadu is not deemed the right manager to continue leading them.
U20 coach of the club Samuel Nii Noi and former goalkeeper of the Phobians Benjamin Mensah are named as interim managers until a main technical head of the first team is appointed.
See the press release from the club confirming the news below :
Samuel Boadu resigned from his role at Medeama SC in February 2021 to take over the vacant head coach position at Hearts of Oak in March 2021. He won the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League and the MTN FA Cup in the same season.
Boadu won the FA Cup again last season but Ghana Sports Market understands the bad start to the 2022/23 season against credible oppositions did not please the Hearts of Oak board – particularly Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe – leading to the early exit of the former Medeama SC trainer.
The Phobians lost at Aduana Stars on opening day of the season before drawing consecutive games against city rivals Great Olympics and sworn enemies Asante Kotoko prompting the Hearts of Oak board to react by pushing Samuel Boadu out of the club.
