Henry Asante to Ghanaian Clubs : Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association Henry Asante Twum has added his voice to the debate about the current state of football in the country in terms of fans attendance at the various league centers.
According to the former GBC broadcast journalist , clubs must know that their fans will not patronize their matches if they are not winning games.
“Some words are pathetic and it should not even come to people’s mind to spew such useless and tasteless allegations against the GFA on Radio.” , Henry Asante said.
“How on earth should a sound-minded person accuse the Ghana Football Association of busing Accra Hearts of Oak supporters to Bibiani? It does not make sense.
“Football is for the fans and without them, there is no football. “Herbert Mensah was able to convince Asante Kotoko Sporting Club supporters that his management was rebuilding the team even when Hearts of Oak kept humiliating them, the supporters kept their faith and supported the club.”
“Club Management must humble themselves, must engage supporters and speak to their conscience and make sure they make great recruitment and must know how to communicate with their supporters.”
“They should know that without winning games, supporters won’t come to the stadium.” , the Communications Director of the GFA concluded.
