Henry Asante Wants Clubs to be Humble : Henry Asante Twum , Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association has implored management members of Ghanaian soccer clubs to be humble and properly communicate with their fans.
Henry cited the tenure of Herbert Mensah at Asante Kotoko to make his point.
“Football is for the fans and without them, there is no football. Herbert Mensah was able to convince Asante Kotoko Sporting Club supporters that his management was rebuilding the team even when Hearts of Oak kept humiliating them, the supporters kept their faith and supported the club.”
“Club Management must humble themselves, must engage supporters and speak to their conscience and make sure they make great recruitment and must know how to communicate with their supporters.”
“They should know that without winning games, supporters won’t come to the stadium.” , the Communications Director of the GFA concluded.
The dwindling stadium attendance across most league centers in the country has led to heated exchanges among football people including the GFA President Kurt Okraku , Kotoko and Hearts of Oak management members.
