How Victor Osimhen Compares with Erling Haaland : Italian agent Andrea D’Amico believes Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is better than Manchester City attacker Erling Haaland.
The City striker has racked up overwhelming 47 goals in 40 matches in all competitions this season whilst the Nigeria forward has 25 goals plus 5 assists in 30 games.
D’Amico is not Osimhen’s agent but is a well-known figure in the world of football, representing several current and former Serie A players, including Juventus‘ Sebastian Giovinco and Nicolò Fagioli.
Speaking about Osimhen during an interview with the radio program Tutti Convocati, D’Amico said: “Right now, he is the best striker in the world, even better than Haaland. But assessments regarding the market will be made in the summer.”
So, which could be the possible destination for the Nigeria international?
“I think he won’t lack options, especially in England even if PSG can’t be underestimated, because they could lose an important player in attack. I think Messi will go to Miami, but this is only my feeling.”
Osimhen is the current Serie A leading scorer with 21 goals plus assists in 24 appearances. Haaland is by far ahead as leading scorer of the 2022/23 Premier League with 32 goals and 5 assists in 28 games so far this season.
The 32 goals is a record in a single 38-game Premier League season and he jointly holds it with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.
Both players are still competing in the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League where Haaland is the top scorer on 11 goals against the paltry 4 goals of the Nigeria attacker.
In one Champions League game against RB Leipzig this season , Haaland netted five times as his team won by 7-0.
Therefore in terms of the stats , the Napoli striker is miserable in comparison to the City goal machine who is clearly the better attacker.
