Ibrahim Imoro and David Abagna arrive in Bahrain with Al – Hilal for Arab Club Champions Cup qualifier

Imoro and Abagna in Bahrain with Al – Hilal : Al – Hilal Omdurman are in Bahrain ahead of their Arab Club Champions Cup second leg match of the first qualifying round against Manama Club of Bahrain and Ghana duo Ibrahim Imoro and David Abagna Sandan are part of the traveling contingent of manager Florent Ibenge.

The Sudan giants were hammered 3-0 by Al Ahly in their CAF Champions League Group B decider on April 1st as Ahly joined Mamelodi Sundowns to advance from the group to the quarter-finals.

The People’s Club have no problems domestically as they lead the 18-club Sudan Premier League with 50 points after 19 games.

The current attention of the team of Imoro and Abagna is the 2023 Arab Club Champions Cup qualification. They won the first leg qualifier by 3-0 on 13th March 2023 and they are in Isa Town for the reverse match slated for April 10th.

Officially named the 2023 King Salman Club Cup after Salman of Saudi Arabia, where the final tournament will be hosted, the competition is the 30th season of the Arab Club Champions Cup, the Arab world’s club football tournament organized by Union of Arab Football Associations (UAFA).

A total of 37 teams are participating in the tournament, which starts with preliminary and qualifying rounds, before the final tournament is held in Saudi Arabia in the summer of 2023 across three cities: Abha, Al-Bahah, and Taif. A total of $10 million of prize money will be awarded.

Raja CA are the defending champions, having won their second title in the previous edition.

Should Al – Hilal succeed in eliminating the Bahrain side on April 10th , they will have to contest another second round qualification games in order to qualify for the tournament proper to be staged in Saudi Arabia.
