Joseph Aiddo To Start Against Angola on Monday : Celta de Vigo defender Joseph Aidoo could start his first Ghana game in Luanda for the first time in a long while following injuries to center backs Alexander Djiku and Mohammed Salisu.

The Strasbourg defender and Southampton player did not make the trip to Luanda and Aidoo is expected to start alongside Daniel Amartey on Monday during the Match-Day Four encounter of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification series.

One has to go back to 11th November 2021 for the last time Aidoo was named in the starting line – up for a Black Stars match.

It was a FIFA World Cup qualifier against Ethiopia played in South Africa as the game ended 1-1 and the Celta man did not impress.

He was not selected for the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon and after series of omissions from the national team selection the former Inter Allies center back is in the Ghana team once again.

Aidoo replaced the injured Djiku in the 87th minute during Thursday’s 1-0 win against the Palancas Negras in Kumasi and the former is in line to start the reverse match tomorrow in Luanda.
