Some of my teammates call me “Donkey” – Kai Havertz explains the origin of his nickname at Chelsea

Kai Havertz Explains His Nickname at Chelsea : Kai Havertz has explained why his teammates called him “Donkey” at Chelsea FC. He made the revelation in an interview with Sid Lowe for the Guardian Sport published on May 29th.

Havertz is known as the calm type of person and this has led to his teammates giving him a rather original nickname, as he confided to the English daily The Guardian.

“Some of my teammates call me “Donkey” (donkey). But it’s not because of my football!” , the scorer of the 2021 UEFA Champions League final goal for Chelsea said.

“From day one, I felt a special relationship with donkeys. It is a very calm animal. Maybe I personified in them because I’m quiet too. They relax all day, don’t do much, just want to live their life. I have always loved them.” , the German explained.

This unexpected statement says a lot about the vision of life of the striker, who may have to scramble a little more to impose himself in a Chelsea team where competition is very tough.

In three seasons so far , the former Leverkusen man has scored 32 goals in 28 games for the Blues.
