Asante Kotoko slumped to their second defeat of the 2024-25 Ghana Premier League season after Heart of Lions stunned the Reds in Obuasi on Sunday.
Former Hearts of Oak striker Obeng Kwadwo Junior made the difference with his first-half strike to win the Matchweek Nine contest for Bashiru Hayford’s side.
In his post-match rection to the latest home defeat, Kotoko boss Prosper Narteh Ogum has bemoaned fixture congestion and fatigue, but adds that he is not making an excuse.
“I think we look slow, we look very slow, we look very tired on the field, I think the stress of the journey. I mean from Kumasi to Anyinase about 9 hours. We played on Sunday,” Prosper Narteh Ogum said after the game.
The former WAFA trainer continued:
“We then traveled another 10 hours to Accra to play on Wednesday(against Legon Cities). From Wednesday too we had to travel all the way from Accra to Kumasi. So its 3 games in 7 days and you could see that they were tied.
“I don’t try to give excuses but then it is so obvious. Look at the journey to Anyinase, 9 to 10 hours. I think it was fatigue that was on our part.” he concluded.
