Kotoko head coach Ogum explains why Albert Amoah is better than former strikers Etouga Mbella and Steven Mukwala

Kotoko Head Coach Prosper Ogum: Asante Kotoko head coach has compared three strikers he has managed at the club and settles on current forward Albert Amoah as the complete striker among the trio.

Thiery Etouga Mbella racked up 21 goals to win the 2021-22 league with Kotoko under the guidance of Dr. Ogum while Steven Mukwala notched up 25 GPL strikes across two seasons with 14 of those goals scored last season with Ogum in charge of Kotoko.

Albert has scored 7 league goals in the current campaign, but Prosper Ogum still believes the former Great Olympics forward is more complete no.9 of the three.

”They are all quality strikers. Theya re good quality players. We saw Mbella, he is a killer, Mukwala is a killer, Albert is also a killer. I think probably Albert (is better) probably in terms of strength,” Prosper Narteh Ogum said after last Sunday’s win over Hearts of Oak.

”Because the three ”S”. Skill, speed and strength. Mukwala is very skillful, he has the pace, the speed. He is like Carl Lewis. Mbella had the skill, he had the speed too. Albert is very strong. In terms of the strength component, they are all strong but I think Albert is very strong, he fights to the last end.

”In terms of positional play, Mbella stands tall, he does not really get himself involved in the game. He loiters around and then punishes you when he gets the chance.”

”But if you look at Albert, he plays with the team, he defends. Look at the way he defends. And when we have the ball, he attacks too. So that is what sets the three strikers apart.” Kotoko head Coach Prosper Ogum concluded.
