Kotoko Need 5 Million GHC Right Now : Asantehene Otumfour Osei Tutu II has revealed that Asante Kotoko football club need to generate at least the sum of 5 000 000 million Ghana Cedis in order to put the Porcupine Warriors in a healthy condition ahead of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.
“The total debt of the club as at now stands around 3 million Ghana Cedis. This involves outstanding player and workers salaries. I have even heard that a coach is also demanding for his money. The receivables of the club is also also around 9 million Ghana Cedis but this is not a money that is currently there. So it means we must generate at least 5 million Ghana Cedis right now to solve all these issues before the new season even starts.” , the great King said.
“Other teams have started buying players. But we have to look at the players first before any other things. Their salaries and their accommodation issues.” , Otumfour added.
Meanwhile former head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has returned to the Reds and will be in charge for the upcoming season. The former WAFA trainer is also part of the 4-member Interim Management Committee formed by Otumfour Osei Tutu II.
