“The players are simply not good enough” – Former board member tears into Kotoko players in an explosive rant after Hearts of Oak defeat

Kotoko Players Not Good Enough : Former board member and supporters chief of Asante Kotoko , Kwaku Amponsah , says the current Asante Kotoko players are not good enough for the club following their latest defeat against Hearts of Oak.

The Porcupine Warriors were defeated by rivals Hearts of Oak by 1-0 in a Week 20 Ghana Premier League encounter last Sunday at the Accra sports stadium and in an explosive rant the known Kotoko fan tears into the Kotoko players.

“The Hearts of Oak defeat is so painful but what The Kotoko players do not give their best for the club. Look at the number of chances they wasted in our game against Hearts of Oak. Maybe there is something that we don’t know but they do not give their best” , Kwaku Amponsah said on Oyerepa Radio on Wednesday morning.

“They always disappoint us against Hearts of Oak nowadays. They are not good enough for me. They didn’t do well at all. They are paid very well but they don’t perform. They play well against other teams but when we meet Hearts then they flop.” ,

He continued :

“We the Kotoko supporters are not going to pamper the players again if they keep on flopping. We have been blaming the coach but the players should take responsibility too because they are on the pitch.

You are a goalkeeper , you come out of your area and still allow the opponent to score. Our players are not good enough. You know we often meet with the players , talk to them and give them gifts but now we are going to stop all that” , he added.
