Kwame Kyei Bought Abrankese Stadium for Kotoko : It has been revealed that Dr. Kwame Kyei bought the Abrankese stadium in order for Asante Kotoko to use is as the club’s home venue.
The revelation was made former Kotoko general manager Nana Gyambibi Coker , a close ally of Dr. Kwame Kyei.
The Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex is currently one of the best soccer stadiums in the country as it hosted the 2023 MTN FA Cup final match between King Faisal and Dreams FC.
The venue also served as the home ground of the Insha Allahu Boys , relegated from the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season.

“Let me use this occasion to clear the wrong impression on the actual owner of Nations Football Club. Nations FC is not for Dr. Kyei but rather it is for his two children.”
“The Dr. Kwame Kyei stadium is his personal property. The main reason he bought the stadium was to serve the interest of Kotoko.” , Coker stated on Akom FM.
Reacting to media reports that the Unity Oil owner is set to retain his position as Kotoko board chairman , Coker said :
“For now I will Dr. Kwame Kyei is my father , I cannot confirm or deny that he (Dr. Kwame Kyei) could be retained as the board chairman of made the executive chairman of Kotoko. “I have seen and read speculations in the media to that effect but I am unable to speak to that news.”
“Should his Royal Majesty call on him anytime , he Dr. Kyei will happily and willingly accept the call. He cannot turn his back on Manhyia as a true son of Asanteman and a servant of the Golden Stool” , he added.
Meanwhile the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex will serve as the home venue of Premier League newcomers Nations FC for the upcoming Ghanaian elite league season.
