France : PSG’s third most capped player Marquinhos signs new deal till 2027 !

Marquinhos Extends PSG Stay Till 2027 : As expected Brazil center-back Marquinhos has signed a new deal with Paris – Saint Germain. The Brazilian captain arrived at Paris ten years ago from AS Roma and has signed up until 2027.

The complicated end of the season for PSG has not changed anything. As expected for several weeks, Marquinhos has extended his contract with the capital club.

The Brazilian defender, who was contracted until 2024, has signed a new contract for an additional three years until June 2027.

The player will soon celebrate his 29th birthday (May 14th) and was seen this week with a flocked “2027” jersey in his hands, sneaking out of a room at Camp des Loges. Photos, communication, everything is ready to formalize the news.

The club is now waiting for the best timing to communicate. Once the title has been validated perhaps.

He is the the third most capped player in the history of PSG.

At the beginning of April, Marquinhos had hinted that the negotiations were close to a conclusion, after the victory at Nice in Ligue 1.

“Extend? I hope so. We are on the final details,” he confided in the wake of his 400th match in the red and blue jersey.

The Brazilian international (76 caps, 5 goals) has since played three more. He is currently the third most capped player in PSG history, behind Jean-Marc Pilorget (435 matches) and Marco Verratti (411 games).

Arrived in the summer of 2013 from AS Roma for 31 million euros , at the age of 19, the native of Sao Paulo has become over the years one of the strong men of the club.

After progressing in the shadow of Alex and David Luiz, he established himself as a starter from 2016. Sometimes helping out as a right-back or midfielder. Thiago Silva’s departure to Chelsea in 2020 allowed him to reclaim the captain’s armband.
