Medeama and Bechem United Race for 2022/23 GPL Title : The Ghana Premier League, currently known as the betPawa Premier League for sponsorship reasons is the top professional association football division of the football league system in Ghana and the 2022/23 season is set to produce a different winner. 

Medeama , on 57 points in 33 games played , lead the league table whilst Bechem United are second with 54 points.

The only way for the Hunters to win the league is to win at Aduana FC on Sunday and hope for Medeama SC to lose at home to Tamale City and it is obvious that the probability of this scenario to happen is very , very low.

Either way , the winner of the current league season is going to be a team that has never annexed the trophy before.

Hearts of Oak , Asante Kotoko , Sekondi Eleven Wise , Real Republikans , Ebusua Dwarfs , Great Olympics , Hasaavas , Goldfields/Ashantigold , Aduana FC , Berekum Chelsea , Wa All Stars/Legon Cities are the eleven clubs to win at least one Ghana Premier League title.

The Ghana Premier League is organized by the Ghana Football Association and was ranked as the 11th best league in Africa by the IFFHS from 2001 to 2010 and the league was also ranked 65th in the IFFHS’ Best Leagues of the World ranking in the 1st Decade of the 21st Century (2001–2010) on 4 February 2014.

However , the Ghanaian top-flight is currently one of the lowest ranked leagues across Africa and this is as a result of the repeated failures of Ghanaian clubs in CAF Club competitions over the past decade.
