Stonebwoy brought me luck, says Kudus after maiden Premier League goal

Mohammed Kudus on Stonebwoy Visit for West Ham game : Ghana midfielder Mohammed Kudus expressed his joy after netting his maiden Premier League goal on Sunday, giving credit to his musician friend Stonebwoy for bringing him good luck.

Kudus came off the bench in the 76th minute to secure a late draw for West Ham against Newcastle United with his goal in the 89th minute, becoming the 17th different Ghanaian international to score in the Premier League.

“It feels very good to score that goal, of course,” he stated in the post-match interview. “Most importantly, it made a difference for the team, which was us getting a point. Even though we wanted the three points, I was happy to score my first [Premier League] goal, and it was important that we got a point out of it.”

Kudus added that Stonebwoy had actually predicted he would score two goals in the match, and while he only managed to score one, he believed the musician brought luck to the stadium.

“It was great to celebrate with our amazing fans. When we were down 2-1 and I was on the bench, we could still feel the support and the energy from the fans, so thank you to them for that. I think it uplifted the players’ energy a lot. It was a great atmosphere today; everyone gave their best, so we take the point we gained from it.”

Kudus is now set to focus on international football as he is expected to feature in Ghana’s upcoming international friendlies against Mexico and the United States on October 14th and 18th, respectively, with both matches taking place in the United States.
