2023 AFCON Qualifiers SHOCKER : Brave Warriors of Namibia defeat Cameroon on neutral venue to go top of Group C

Namibia Shock Cameroon in Johannesburg : Namibia defeated Cameroon by 2-1 on Tuesday afternoon in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification match at the Dobsonville stadium on Tuesday in Johannesburg , South Africa.

Mamelodi Sundowns attacker Peter Shalulile netted in the 55th minute to put Nambia ahead as FECAFOOT president Samuel Eto’o watched on from the VIP stand.

Vincent Aboubakar equalized for the Indomitable Lions in the 72nd minute but Absalom Manyana Kamutyasha Iimbondi restored the lead for the Brave Warriors in the 79th minute with a cool finish.

Namibia are now top of Group C with 5 points in three games as Cameroon , coached by Rigobert Song , take the second spot with 4 points in three after three matches.

Namibia are thus unbeaten against Cameroon in this AFCON qualification following the 1-1 outcome in their previous match played in Yaounde on March 24th.

In that match , it was the influential Shalulile who struck first in the 26th minute for the Brave Warriors at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium before Olivier Kemen equalized for Rigobert Song’s side.

Malawi who are coached by the 44-year old Collins Benjamin have been impressive considering the fact that they have played all their qualifying games outside their country.

Group C has only three teams following the disqualification of Kenya from the competition by CAF.
