Nana Yaw Amponsah Summoned by Kotoko Board : Board member of Asante Kotoko Mr. Joseph Yaw Adu has revealed that Chief Executive Officer Nana Yaw Amponsah was summoned over to explain his management sacked head coach Seydou Zerbo without informing the board before.
Zerbo was fired on Monday 27th March following a 2-0 home defeat against Medeama SC a day earlier at the Babayara sports stadium.
“It was a sub committee meeting , the entire board has not met. We summoned the CEO (Nana Yaw Amponsah) to explain to us why he did not inform us before sacking coach Seydou Zerbo and the recent performance of the team and other technical matters.” , Joseph Yaw Adu is quoted by Oyerepa FM.
The CEO founds himself in the same circumstance as it happened with the Maxwell Konadu sacking on 18th December 2020.
Amponsah publicly stated that he erred by not informing the Dr. Kwame Kyei-led Kotoko board before handing over the sacking letter to Konadu.
Meanwhile Abdulai Gazale has been installed as interim head coach of the Porcupine Warriors and so far he has lead the team to a win and a draw.
The champions of Ghana take on King Faisal FC in the second Kumasi derby of the season at the Babayara stadium on April 5th at 19 : 00 GMT.
